With the purpose of strengthening the countries of the Region to reduce the inequity of access to the use of regulatory legal standards and scientific evidence, the Latin American Center for Information in Health Sciences BIREME/PAHO/WHO presented in 2018 the mobile application e-BlueInfo, a platform that places “Reliable and updated information selected by experts in the palm of the hand of health professionals.” In 2021, version 2.0 was launched with new functionalities and content.
Honduras, to expand the offer of products and services to the health sector, joined the e-BlueInfo Network in 2024 to support the work processes and decision-making of health professionals, researchers, and managers. The contents of e-BlueInfo Honduras include: official and current documents generated by: the General Directorate of Surveillance of the Regulatory Framework, General Directorate of Standardization, First and Second Level of Care Programs of the Ministry of Health, Health Surveillance Unit, among others.
According to the documentation collected and selected in e-BlueInfo, the following collections are published:
– Regulatory documents: guidelines, protocols, standards, manuals, procedures, plans, instructions, and policies
– Internal reference documents: care agreement, minimum requirements, among others
In 2024, the Ministry of Health of Honduras, in partnership with the National Medical Library of the National Autonomous University of Honduras and PAHO/WHO, formed a working team with the participation of professionals from the three institutions and the technical cooperation of BIREME. Among the activities carried out by the committee: preparation of a matrix of responsibilities for document selection, document analysis using the LILACS Methodology, adaptation of the e-BlueInfo application for Honduras, promotion, and training of personnel.
